IOM NAIROBI

Somali Diaspora
QUESTS-MIDA will be funded through UNDP’s Somali Institutional Development Project (SIDP), with the first phase catering to SIDP strategic priority areas, which are:
  • Policy and legislation development;
  • Human resources management;
  • Public financial management.
Other developmental areas could be addressed through the QUESTS-MIDA process, such as health and medicine, technical training, business development, education, etc.  The project is envisioned to run for three years and more targeted funding is required for QUESTS-MIDA to move into these areas.

Follow this link to see how the selection process works…

Members of the donor community should be aware that:
  • QUESTS-MIDA is not a program for repatriating qualified Somali expatriates back  to Somalia.
  • All QUESTS-MIDA participants reserve the right to return to their country of residency at any time. Their purpose for being in Somalia is to transfer knowledge, skills and resources to Somali colleagues in a specific institution that will benefit from the QUESTS-MIDA short term assignment.
  • QUESTS-MIDA is committed to ensuring a transparent and accountable recruitment process and utilization of its resources.
If members of the donor community wish to discuss the possibility of being part of the QUESTS-MIDA project, Follow this link to the Feedback page to post a comment or query to QUESTS-MIDA.
